Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government Launches the Arab Leadership Initiative at the Government Summit

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government launched the Arab Leadership and Government Excellence Program at the second Government Summit held from 10 to 12 February. Designed for young leaders in the Arab world, the program focuses on providing leaders with skills in several areas including leadership and management to enable them to face modern challenges in an effective and sustainable manner.
 
The program comes in the context of the progress made by the UAE government entities which were ranked first at a world level in terms of government performance and social cohesion as per the international competency report published by the International Institute for Management Development, Switzerland for 2013 and the first rank for happy citizens in the Arab world in terms of welfare according to UN reports which makes the UAE Government a model for best practices in governance.
 
The program prepares leaders to deal with the multiple and diverse challenges of globalization and high competitiveness among institutions while it also contributes to honing the skills of leadership in the government sector in a variety of disciplines and fields.
 
Program Objectives
The Arab Leadership and Government Excellence Program focuses on three main areas: Leadership which tackles patterns of leadership skills and leadership development, and the area of governance which focuses on the main concepts of governance and the area of best practices in the government administration , featuring  a large number of initiatives and success stories of government institutions in the UAE. The program aims to enrich the knowledge of the individual participants of the leaders of the government sector in the Arab world, enhance the operational capacity of the participants, enable them to effectively apply the best practices in the field of leadership, strategic management and policy, build a network of government relations and enable positive communication among mid and senior management in the government sector. The program also aims to familiarize leaders with global best practices in general and UAE Government institutions, in particular, in order to identify the main factors for success and prospects for development.
 
The program is conducted in partnership with Dubai Executive Council, Dubai Government Excellence Program, Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Ministry of Education, Federal Authority for Human Resources, Financial Audit Department, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Police, Department of Finance, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Courts, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program and the Roads and Transport Authority.
The program is taught by a large number of faculty and experts from various government institutions and lasts two weeks.
