MBRSG Takes Part in the Seventh Annual Public Management and Reform Symposium in the UK

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) took part in the seventh annual Public Management and Reform Symposium held under the title “Assessing the Scope of Responsibility, the size and Structure of National Civil Service in the 21st Century” in London, the UK on 10-11 December.
 
The conference shed light on the various approaches being implemented to reduce, restructure and reorganize the civil service in order to maximize efficiency and overcome the pressures currently facing public management.
Speakers and specialists in public management and public policy discussed best practices from their experience to ensure the success of administrative reform initiatives in the public sector. 
 
Representing MBRSG at the conference, Dr. Bassem Younis, Director of Strategic Alliances and Dr. Ahmed Badran, Assistant Professor of Public Policy gave a presentation based on a research paper prepared in cooperation with Dr. Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG. The presentation gave an overview of the level of achievement and excellence Dubai and the UAE have reached in the field of public services provision and development through the implementation of information and communication technologies. 
 
The presentation highlighted the innovation in Public Services Delivery focusing on the shift from the modern public management approach to the digital governance era through the transformation from e-government to smart governance. The MBRSG team showed examples of smart government applications as part of the achievements of the Government of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates which was highly lauded.
