Research Fellow (Non-Resident)

Khamis is a Research Fellow (Non-Resident) at the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government. Khamis has worked for several spearhead NHS Organisations in England where he led on Priority Public Health Topics. He worked as head of section and then consultant for local authorities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In his current role, he works for a UN specialised global agency to support health systems strengthening. Khamis has been involved with several national and local committees for policy and strategy.

His experience covers a wide range of subject areas, including but not limited to Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Policy and Strategy, and Health Systems Strengthening. Khamis is an enthusiastic advocate for translating policy into practice, transformative initiatives and driving value-based and sustainable improvements within the health system. He attained certifications in PRINCE2 Social Marketing and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health and at MBRSG. Khamis has spoken at national and international conferences and is a peer reviewer for several public health journals and the National Institute for Health and Research in England. In 2016, Khamis was awarded ‘outstanding contribution in reviewing’ by Public Health in recognition of the contributions made toward the quality of the Journal.
