MBRSG Signs MoU with FCSA on Academic Cooperation and Exchange of Expertise
The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA) to promote academic cooperation and exchange of expertise through the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program with a focus on sustainable development.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, and H.E. Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director General of FCSA, during an event attended by officials from both parties.
The MoU is an extension of an earlier agreement the two entities signed in 2017 to enhance knowledge sharing and exchange of academic and scientific insights and experiences.
H.E. Dr Al Marri said: “The MoU represents an extension of our strategic partnership with the FCSA, which seeks to train UAE nationals and equip them with the necessary management skills, transferring the latest insights, theories and practices to contribute to the overall sustainable development process of the UAE”.
He added: “Sustainable development is one of the most prominent national and international issues; it plays a significant role in shaping future policies. This compels us to implement advanced systems of administration and to carry out the vision of our wise leadership of achieving sustainability in various sectors and fields. The UAE has made great strides in this regard, assuming a leading position in global competitiveness indicators, establishing itself as a global centre for sustainability.”
His Excellency expressed his confidence in the success of this cooperation, which stands to provide a unique model for partnerships, as well as pointing out MBRSG’s commitment to enable academics and government cadres and work closely with various parties to build a sustainable future for all citizens.
HE Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director General of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, praised the strategic partnership with Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government. “Today, the FCSA and holds a wide range of expertise in the field of competitiveness, data and sustainable development goals, which has contributed significantly to the improvement of the country's international reputation and global standing important global reports and indices. Through our innovative partnership and close collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, we are able to bring all this knowledge and expertise to serve Emirati youth who are interested in sustainability by sharing our learnings, experience and knowledge,” added Lootah.
The MoU stipulates that MBRSG shall contribute to the training and qualification of FCSA’s employees who are registered in the Master of Public Policy program and who have met all the requirements. MBRSG will provide all means of support for them to complete and excel in their studies.
For its part, FCSA will help enhance the program’s content by providing reports and data. The two parties will also cooperate in supporting lectures and workshops on international policies, international competitiveness, and sustainable development, through the exchange of researchers and experts’ know-how and expertise. Furthermore, the two entities will work together to research, publish, and document best practices and services in areas of mutual interest.
