MBRSG Launches Sixth Edition of Arab Leadership Program

Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), a research and educational institution specializing in public policy in the Arab world, today (Sunday) launches the sixth edition of its Arab Leadership Program.
 
The Arab Leadership Program aims to qualify leaders of public institutions to meet the challenges of today’s evolving public sector landscape, given the high level of expectations with regard to performance and services. The program is designed to enrich the knowledge component of public sector leaders in the Arab world and empower them to tackle current and potential challenges while leading their organizations with a strategic long-term vision.
 
Aimed at building a participant’s theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the program will also enhance communication within and among institutions, as well as introduce participants to best-in-class global government practices and those followed in the UAE. Furthermore, the program will host a number of field visits to government institutions to identify factors that contribute to the success and growth of organizations in the UAE.
 
The current edition of the Arab Leadership Program draws the participation of 23 candidates from countries such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq, in addition to the UAE. Comprising second-tier leadership, the cadres include department heads, directors and undersecretaries within ministries in the region.  
 
His Excellency Dr Ali Sabaa Al Marri, Executive President MBRSG, Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Al Obaidly, Chairman of the Emirates Strategic Planning Association, Doctor Yasar Jarrar, Vice Chair, Global Agenda Council on the Future of Government, World Economic Forum and Research Fellow at MBRSG, as well as a group of prominent academics and experts in public administration are among the faculty and lecturers headlining the program.
 
His Excellency Dr Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President, MBRSG, said: "The seamless integration of all public administration and government processes in the UAE has made it an excellent international role model. Al Marri added: “At MBRSG we are keen to support the government’s efforts in ensuring the development of strong administrative systems. We work tirelessly to build administrative capacities in the region through opening up platforms and channels to share experiences and best practices towards achieving sustainable development and progress for our people.”
 
The Arab Leadership Progam includes two modules - Institutional Performance and Government Performance. While the first discusses ways to identify and analyze current challenges to find efficient solutions, the second discusses government performance and methods to develop and implement public policy strategy. The program also includes workshops on excellence in organizational performance, resources management and operations. In addition, it features interactive sessions on the development of leadership and managerial skills and the crucial role of performance enhancement and leveraging of modern technologies in upgrading performance and effectiveness.
 
Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is committed to promoting good governance through enhancing the region’s capacity for effective public policy. The school uses a four-pronged approach, which includes applied research in public policy and management, academic programs in public policy and administration, executive education programs and knowledge forums for scholars and policy makers.
