MBRSG launches alumni association to use graduates’ expertise to empower a new generation of leaders
The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) launched its alumni association in an effort to strengthen ongoing communication with its graduates and use their pioneering expertise in government work in the UAE, the region, and the world, to enrich MBRSG’s academic community and empower a new generation of government leaders.
The association was launched in a grand ceremony organised by MBRSG at the Mohammed bin Rashid Library in Dubai, bringing together notable graduates from its academic programmes. The ceremony was attended by MBRSG’s Executive President His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, and its Dean Prof. Raed Awamleh, along with several MBRSG officials.
“Graduates of the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government are its legacy and history,” asserted H.E. Al Marri in his speech addressing the MBRSG alumni. “This is embodied in your dedication to work for the advancement of your country. Our alumni were and still are our best ambassadors and a mark of our distinction.”
“MBRSG is committed to strengthening communication with our graduates, who have now become government leaders,” H.E. Al Marri added. “You are a model of success that we take pride in, and from it, we draw our motivation to train new generations of leaders and qualified professionals, capable of driving development forward and improving government performance in various fields.”
Dr. Al Marri went on to add: “The launch of the MBRSG Alumni Association today reflects our commitment to building a sizeable knowledge base and to connect graduates with their roots at MBRSG, and enable them to use their vision and expertise to make further contributions towards enhancing government administration and public policy in the UAE, the region, and the world.”
“We sought to make this gathering today a productive one and establish a communication network with all graduates, allowing us to explore the visions, expertise, and experiences that you have contributed while doing government work over the years,” H.E. continued. “By building on this expertise and passing it down to a new generation of leaders, MBRSG can continue its noble mission to provide knowledge and expertise to enhance our leadership, expand our contributions to government work, play our part in changing people’s lives for the better, and shape a sustainable future for all.”
The objectives from establishing the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government Alumni Association include fostering a sense of community among MBRSG Alumni; allowing graduates to contribute towards advancing skills of current students and supporting their career development; contributing to the overall brand image and objectives of MBRSG; and assisting in MBRSG initiatives.
The Association will also serve as a platform that brings together old and new graduates to exchange experiences and visions, address mutual concerns, and highlight MBRSG Alumni’s achievements, success, career, and contributions to the academic community at MBRSG. Members of the Association will consist of all graduates from MBRSG’s academic programmes, whose membership will be renewed automatically without any restrictions or procedures.
The launch ceremony for the Association included a set of sessions where attendees and MBRSG graduates participated, including a discussion on ‘MBRSG’s Global Economic Deregistration index’, moderated by Dr. Fadi Salem, Director of the Policy Research Department at MBRSG, and another on ‘Major Global Trends’, Delivered by Prof. Mark Esposito, Professor of Economic policy.
The ceremony concluded with an open discussion between graduates to exchange experiences and discuss the challenges faced that world governments face in terms of administration and policies in order to implement the strategic goals of governments now and in the future.
