MBRSG signs MoU with the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue

13 October 2023

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue (GCHRAGD), marking a significant step towards fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the fields of education, research, and executive training, and conducting landmark research studies in public policy, governance, and government administration.

The agreement was signed on 10 October 2023 by MBRSG’s Executive President His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, and Dr. Umesh Palwankar, GCHRAGD Executive Director, with Prof. Raed Awamleh, Dean of MBRSG, and several officials from both parties in attendance.

“The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is committed to training and empowering the government leaders of the future both in the UAE and across the Arab region and the world,” said H.E. Dr. Al Marri. “We are dedicated to coordinating efforts with reputable and influential international institutions to exchange knowledge and expertise, and provide opportunities for students to expand their horizons and acquire more advanced skills from global experts.”

“This agreement we have signed with the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue creates an opportunity for both entities to tap into each other’s specialised insight and experiences to create new opportunities for students, allow them to explore international best practices, and involve them in research projects focusing on public and administrative policies,” H.E. Al Marri added.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two parties pledge to collaborate and exchange knowledge and expertise on education, by hosting and organising relevant events, where both entities encourage collaborative efforts to hold forums, seminars, policy dialogues, symposiums, and executive developmental trainings.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government is an academic research and teaching institution focused on government administration and public policies in the Arab world. It aims to support the advancement of government excellence in the UAE – and the Arab region, in general – by developing an integrated ecosystem of educational and training programmes, research and studies, documenting the UAE’s outstanding experience, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge among government institutions in the UAE and across Arab countries.

For its part, the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue is a think-tank created in 2013 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The Centre was granted special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2017. The Centre is dedicated to the promotion of a universal, value-driven human rights system, anchored in the principles of equity, non-discrimination, inclusiveness, and solidarity.
