MBRSG launches new 2025 edition of its Ramadan Knowledge Series, designed to enhance governance and community leadership

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) has announced the launch of the 2025 edition of its Ramadan Knowledge Series, a pioneering initiative designed to enhance government competencies, foster knowledge, and inspire creative thinking through a series of weekly discussions on public strategy and advanced management topics. This comes in conjunction with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's declaration of 2025 as the 'Year of the Community' 

The series blends the spirituality of the Holy Month with strategic knowledge exchange within the government sector, focusing on impactful topics that contribute to the development of a comprehensive knowledge-based community. It aligns with MBRSG’s mission to support policymakers and equip them with tools needed for the future, in line with the UAE’s vision to create a sustainable government model rooted in innovation and community engagement.

The new edition highlights three strategic pillars that reflect the UAE Government’s priorities. It focuses on the Year of Community 2025 initiative, which aims to strengthen partnerships between the government and citizens, in addition to showcasing inspiring leadership experiences that offer practical lessons in developing leadership skills, managing teams, and making informed decisions.

Participants will explore the connection between public policies and the spiritual values of Ramadan, alongside strategic trends highlighted at the World Government Summit 2025. Special attention will be given to balancing technological advancements, transparency, and ethical values in the age of generative artificial intelligence (AI), all of which are essential for promoting community sustainability and innovation in government operations.

The remote sessions are scheduled for 18, 20, and 25 March 2025, and will take place on a virtual platform in Arabic. They will feature a distinguished lineup of experts and government leaders who will enrich the discussions with strategic insights and practical experiences. Notable speakers will include MBRSG’s Executive President His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri; Saleh Al Hammouri, Development and Training Expert in Executive Education at MBRSG; and Dr. Khalid Al Wazani, Professor of Economics and Public Policies at MBRSG, alongside other experienced figures in governance and leadership.

The first session, titled ‘the Year of Community: An Innovative Partnership between Government Entities and Emirati Citizens’, will highlight key government initiatives aimed at enhancing social cohesion and fostering positive dialogue between the government and community members. The session will be led by Saleh Al Hammouri, who will discuss how to develop innovative mechanisms to strengthen the partnership between the government and society, in line with the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Community. 

The session will take place on 18 March 2025, providing participants with an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities for enhancing collaborative efforts, as well as to propose innovative solutions that meet future aspirations.

Meanwhile, the second session, titled ‘Leadership in Action: Real-World Lessons from Extraordinary Leaders’, will feature H.E. Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri sharing his field leadership experiences that offer practical lessons on developing leadership skills through real-life practice, team management, crisis handling, and making critical decisions. 

Held on 20 March 2025, the session will showcase successful leadership models from various sectors, allowing participants to explore leadership styles that enhance their positive impact in the workplace. It will provide attendees with practical insights into enhancing leadership skills in the government sector.

The series will conclude on 25 March 2025 with a session led Dr. Khalid Al Wazani, Professor of Economics and Public Policies at MBRSG. The session entitled ‘Public Policies and the Spirit of Ramadan’ will discuss the role of public policies in improving government performance and enhancing community sustainability, highlighting the outcomes of the 2025 World Government Summit and its key future directions. 

The session will explore the role of governments in the era of generative AI, emphasising the importance of transparency and AI applications in government work, as well as the impact of the World Government Summit on fostering innovation and community sustainability. This discussion aims to investigate the relationship between technological advancements and ethical values, seeking ways to balance the benefits of modern technology with the core principles that ensure fairness and effectiveness in public policies. 

The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government continues to play a leading regional role in governance and public policy, with the 2025 Ramadan Knowledge Series reflecting its commitment to enhancing the partnership between government and society, and equipping decision makers with advanced knowledge and tools to foster a resilient and progressive government sector capable of driving sustainable development.
