Overview:

The OECD Network of Schools of Government's Annual Meeting will take place in Dubai on May 28-29, 2024. This meeting, themed "Transforming the Public Sector," will bring together leaders and experts to discuss key topics related to public sector transformation.

 

Purpose:

The meeting aims to foster discussions on innovative strategies and methodologies for transforming public sector governance and administration. The sessions will cover a range of topics, including leading organizational and cultural changes, adapting to workforce transformations, and revolutionizing learning systems to meet future needs.

 

Key Topics:

• Leading Transformation: Strategies and leadership required to guide public sector transformation, featuring insights from leaders and educators on developing effective executive groups for public service.
• Workforce Transformation: The impact of AI and changing demographics on the public workforce, focusing on necessary upskilling and reskilling initiatives.
• Learning Systems Transformation: Innovations in educational frameworks and learning delivery, with a focus on informal and experiential learning, AI-enabled tools, and fostering individual capacity for change.
   

Keynote Speech:

A keynote speech will be delivered by H.E. Ohood Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, UAE. She will discuss the UAE's vision and initiatives for government development.

The meeting will conclude with closing remarks from Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President, Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, and Mr. Jón Blöndal, Head of Public Management and Budgeting, OECD, summarizing key insights and future steps.
