About The Program

Government strategists and public policy makers face many challenges in various fields. Recently, many books, reports and studies specialized in this field have been presented.

The governmental administration sheds light on the expected benefits that can be provided by the country's public policies, especially when these policies are prepared in a systematic way and keep pace with future developments to be effective in serving the stakeholders and society.

From this perspective, this program was designed according to international best practices, and the materials and references were selected in accordance with the General Policy Manual, and based on a set of initiatives launched at the level of the UAE government. 

This program covers all phases of preparing public policies and includes group exercises for the participants by using practical case studies based on the experience of the government of the United Arab Emirates and some selected countries, in order to achieve the goal of sharing and enhancing knowledge and experiences among all participants.

Objectives

1. Introduce the nature of the policy development process, its importance, its relation to strategic planning and performance management, and the practical steps for developing policies, including the management of stakeholders.
2. Identify methodologies for developing proactive, effective and innovative policies that guarantee the participation of all strategic and relevant partners, and the community participation.
3. Enhance the practical capacity of the participants and enabling them to effectively apply best practices in the development and implementation of public policies.
4. Identify the best international practices in general and the practices of the government of the United Arab Emirates in particular.
