Overview
This Healthcare Public Policy and Practice workshop will provide delegates with an understanding of health policy, which reflects authoritative decisions and the process of decision-making, carried out at the federal, state, and local levels, which affect personal health and access to and delivery of health services in the United Arab Emirates. Health policy is based on laws, rules, and regulations to implement legislation or on legal standards established through judicial decisions.
Learning Objectives:
- To examine the global and regional mandates for healthcare including the processes of health policymaking, including how health policy proposals move through the policy, legal and ethical process.
- To assess the key challenges to addressing cost, access, and quality issues in health care and evaluate existing policies in these areas.
- To analyse the diverse perspectives held by policy makers, interest groups, health care professionals, and other stakeholders regarding existing and proposed health policy.
- To identify and analyse ways health care professionals can participate in and influence health policy development; including the management of legal and ethical issues
