Sanah Sheikh
Associate Researcher
Sanah is an experienced researcher with more than seven years of experience at OPM - an independent research organization and consultancy in London, UK. She has experience of working across sectors with a diverse range of organizations including central government departments, local government, health providers, non-departmental bodies and voluntary organizations. Sanah specializes in working with policy makers, service users and professionals to help inform public policy and improve the quality of public services. She is passionate about equality and diversity with experience of engaging with and empowering vulnerable communities. Some of her more recent work has included conducting an evaluation of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) pathfinder programme for the Department for Education and an insight study for the Department of Health to explore the experiences of vulnerable groups in accessing health services. She has also worked with a number of NHS Trusts to run a series of consultation and engagement events to feed into the reconfiguration of health services. Sanah has also contributed significantly to the preventing violent extremism agenda in the UK by conducting needs assessments, best practice research, literature reviews and evaluations at the national and local level. She has also worked with large disability charities like Scope and Mencap to conduct in-depth research projects to help campaign for the needs of people with disabilities and mental health conditions. She has an extensive list of publications both online and in print and has written for the Guardian and the Huffington Post. Sanah has a B.A. in Economics from Brown University and a MSc in Social Psychology from LSE.
