Moustafa is an Associate Researcher at MBRSG, where he focuses on sustainable development policies. He holds a masters’ degree in Sustainable Development from Uppsala University in Sweden. He worked as a research assistant at Stockholm Environment Institute focusing on climate policy and finance within the water and sanitation sector. His research interests include just transitions from fossil fuels, climate change impacts on the Arab countries, in addition to zero-carbon development and sustainable economies.

Moustafa also led “Rethinking Economics Uppsala”, which is a student organization with the aim of rethinking the current economic models that are causing the current environmental challenges. He also publishes opinion articles in The Beam, a renewable energy magazine based in Berlin.
