MBRSG Organises 5th station in the 2nd "Future Trip" programm
The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG), the first research and teaching institution to focus on governance and public policy in the Arab world, has organized the fifth station of its ‘Future Trip’ prgramme, in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) at the authority’s headquarters in Dubai’s Academic City.
Now in its second edition, Future Trip program is a one-of-a-kind initiative that seeks to empower and inform the leaders of the future and to ensure a smooth transfer of government knowledge and expertise. The sessions that formed part of the fifth station showcased the pioneering example provided by KHDA in the planning, provision and development of knowledge requirements and human development, in accordance with the directions of the wise government. The programme was devised to conform with the best international practices and comprised innovative initiatives aimed at ensuring high quality output from schools and vocational education establishments.
H.E. Dr. Abdulla Al-Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors-Director General, (KHDA), said: "We were delighted to host the fifth station of Future Trip programme, organised by MBRSG, which provides an interactive environment for future leaders on the pioneering models and creative ideas presented by various Dubai government entities. The programme reinforces the government's approach to innovation and positive change and highlights its efforts in improving performance indicators and achieving objectives."
The workshop included an interactive session titled ‘Leadership of Change’ presented by HE Dr. Al-Karam, who provided valuable insights on KHDA’s pioneering model for implementing future education. The session reviewed the efforts exerted by the authority to enhance the traditional patterns of spreading knowledge, which have contributed to achieving a qualitative leap in the nature of its work and in the quality of its performance through encouraging teamwork and empowering staff.
Professor Raed Awamleh, Dean of MBRSG, said: "We were honoured to be able to work with our colleagues at KHDA and to experience the insightful and informative programme they delivered. The enlightening sessions and workshops assisted in realising the aspirations of the leadership to adopt innovation.”
“Future Trip’s program fifth station explored` the future of government work and related sectors and empowered future leaders by informing them about new government initiatives. The programme has directly contributed to the spreading of knowledge and the meeting of objectives.” He added.
During the station’s activities, KHDA experts gave a presentation on design thinking - a specific type of innovative applied thinking characterised by an advanced approach to finding solutions to the various problems that can arise in the work of government organisations. The overview included scientific and creative approaches formulated to understand the nature of problems and to identify methods to provide logical solutions to them.
The fifth station of the Future Trip program attracted representatives from Dubai Public Prosecution; Roads and Transport Authority (RTA); Dubai Courts; Community Development Authority in Dubai (CDA); Dubai Government Workshop; Dubai Sports Council; General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs; Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs and Charity; Dubai Land Department; Dubai Civil Defence; Dubai Maritime City Authority; Knowledge and Human Development Authority; Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC); Dubai Media Incorporated and Dubai Department of Finance.
